Public Buildings to reinove fence of Capitol Square on Governor
street on certam conditions,

Resolved by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
superintendent of public buildings be and he is hereby author.
ized to have the iron fencing and the wall supporting the same,
on the eastern side of the capitol square from the gate to the
governor's house on Capitol street, to the Whig building on
Franklin street, removed and withdrawn for not more than six
feet at any one point, so as to widen the sidewalk of Governor
street between the points aforesaid; provided, however, that
the expense of moving and rebuilding s said fence and wall shall
be borne by the city of Richmond, and shall not be a charge
upon the treasury of the state: and provided further, that the
title of the state to the land authorized hereby to be used for
street purposes is not surrendered or affected thereby.
