Chap. 68.—An ACT authorizing the sale of certain school-house and
academy property in Jacksonville district in Floyd county.
Approved spril 2, 1879.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
it shall be lawful for the district school board of Jacksonville
district in Floyd county, to sell the lot of land and house at
Jacksonville, now owned by said district as a public free school-
house, and to invest the proceeds thereof in the property known
as the Academy lot, at or near Jacksonville, which shall there-
after be the property of said school district.
2. The trustees of the Jacksonville academy are hereby au-
thorized to sell their property above mentioned to the said dis-
trict school board for the purposes aforesaid.
3. The sale and purchase authorized by the first section shall
not be made without the assent in writing of the county super-
intendent of schools of said county.
4. This act shall be in force from its passage.
