Chap. 66.—An ACT to incorporate the Gallego Mills Manufacturing
Company.
Approved Apru 2, 1879.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That whereas
Abraham Warwick, Francis Skiddy, William R. Kirkland,
Robert J. Barksdale, William Von Sacks, William H. McFar-
land, Randolph Barksdale, and George A. Barksdale, and their
successors or assigns, and such persons as they may unite with
them, be and they. are hereby incorporated, under the corporate
name and style of The Gallego Mills Manufacturing Company.
2. The said company shall have the right to carry on the
business of manufacturing flour and meal from wheat, rye,
buckwheat, corn and other grain; to manufacture and weave
cloths and other fabrics of cotton, woolen, silk and other mate-
rial, and to manufacture paper.
8. The capital stock shall be divided into shares of fifty dol-
lars each, and shall not be less than two hundred thousand
dollars, nor more than two millions.
4. The said company may purchase and hold as much real
estate, not excceding ten acres in the city of Richmond, nor
more than one thousand acres elsewhere in Virginia, as it may
deem necessary for its business; and its principal office shall
be in the city of Richmond.
5. The said company may sue and be sued, and have a com-
mon seal.
6. This act shall be in force from its passage.
