Chap. 61.—An ACT to amend and re-enact the 6th section of the
56th chapter, Code of 1873, so as to include the directors of the Deaf
and Dumb and Blind Institution, of the Western Lunatic Asylum,
of the Hastern Lunatic Asylum, and of the Central Lunatic Asylum.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the sixth
section of the fifty-sixth chapter of the Code of eighteen hun.
dred and seventy-three, prescribing the appointment of com-
missioners to ascertain value of land wanted by a company,
county or town, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as
follows:
$6. If the president and directors of a company incorpora-
ted for work of internal improvement, the court of a county,
or the council of a town, the directors of the Deaf and Dumb
and Blind institution, of the Western lunatic asylum, of the
Kastern lunatic asylum, and Central lunatic asylum, cannot
agree on the terms of purchase with those entitled to lands
wanted for the purposes of the company, county, town, institu-
tion, or asylums aforesaid, five disinterested freeholders shall
be appointed by the court of the county or corporation in which
the land, or the greater part thereof, shall lie (any three of
whom may act), for the purpose of ascertaining a just aompen-
sation for such land.
