Chap. 39.—An ACT to incorporate the Old Dominion Fishing and
Yacht Club.
Approved March 31, 1879.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
John F. Moyer, S. McG. Fisher, Ira W. Blunt, Chas. A. West,
James H. Capers, F. A. Drew, Maurice Clagett, Edward H.
Fisher, and such other persons as are now associated as the
Old Dominion Fishing and Yacht club, or may hereafter be-
come associated with them, are hereby constituted a body cor-
porate by the name of The Old Dominion Fishing and Yacht
Club, for the purpose of social intercourse and owning or main-
tainining a vessel or vessels for yachting and fishing.
2. The said corporation shall have power to make and use a
common seal, to make and adopt a constitution and by-laws,
rulus and regulations for the government of the club and its
members, and for the admission and expulsion of its members,
tlie election of its officers, and to define their duties, and for
the safe-keeping and protection of its property and funds, and
from time to time to alter or repeal such constitution, by-laws,
rules and regulations: provided that the same be not incon-
sistent with the constitution and sections four thousand two
hundred and fourteen, four thousand two hundred and fifteen,
four thousand two hundred and sixteen, and four thousand two
hundred and seventeen of the Revised Statutes of the United
States, and the constitution and laws of the state of Virginia.
8. The said corporation may purchase and hold or lease any
real or personal estate: provided that they shall not hold any
real estate exceeding ten acres of land,
