Chap. 85.—An ACT authorizing trustees of Centenary Methodist
Episcopal Church South to borrow money.

Whereas under the authority of an act of the general assem-
bly of Virginia, passed on the twelfth day of December, eigh-
teen hundred and seventy-four, the trustees of Centenary
Methodist Episcopal Church South, of the city of Richmond,
did execute a deed of trust upon the church property on Grace
street, in the city of Richmond, to secure a debt of eight thou-
sand dollars, bearing eight per centum per annum interest, to
defray the costs and charges of repairs and improvements put
upon the said church, which debt is still unpaid in part; and
whereas it is desired by the trustees and congregation of the
said church to redeem the said debt by means of a loan at 4
less rate of interest than that which is now paid upon the said
debt; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
D. S. Wooldridge, Thomas H. Lambeth, Thomas A. Rust, R.
H. Dibrell, W. P. W. Taylor, Oscar F. Weisiger, A. L. West,
OQ. S. Morton and Asa Snyder, trustees of Centenary Meth-
odist Episcopal Church South, in the city of Richmond, Vir-
ginia, and their successors in office, be and they are hereby
authorized, for the purpose above set forth, to make and issue
certificates of debt not to exceed seven thousand dollars in
the aggregate amount, and with or without interest coupons
attached, but the rate of interest not to exceed six per centum
per annum, and to secure the same by executing one or more
deeds of trust upon the church property upon Grace street, in
the city of Richmond, held by said trustees and known as
Centenary church.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
