CHAP. 29.—An ACT to incorporate the True Issue Pubiishiag
Company.
Approved February 2, 1880.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That Phillip W.
Strother, William A. French, Wythe G. Bane, and such others
as may be associated with them, and their successors, are cre-
ated a body politic and corporate under the name and style of
The True Issue Publishing Company, and as such shall have
perpetual succession, shall possess all the privileges and powers
of corporations, and are authorized to do all acts necessary for
carrying on a general newspaper, publishing and printing busi-
ness.
2. The capital stock of said company shall be not less than
six hundred dollars and not more than five thousand dollars, in,
shares of twenty-five dollars each, and may dispose of shares
of stock upon such terms as it may deem expedient.
3. The stockholders shall be liable only to the payment of
the full amount of the stock due by them, and no stockholder
holding full paid up stock shall be liable to any contribution
or for any debts or obligations of said company.
4. The persons named in the first section shall be the direct-
ors of said company, to continue as such until their successors
are elected and qualified; and said board shall elect its own
president.
5. The said board is authorized to adopt such constitution
and by-laws for the government and conduct of the company
and to enforce the same in the courts of the commonwealth.
6. In each meeting of the stockholders cach share of paid
up stock shall cast one vote, and a majority of said stockhold-
ers may call a meeting of stockholders at any time.
7. All acts of the aforesaid parties done pursuant to their
understanding as a joint stock company before the granting of
this charter are legalized.
8. This act shall be in force form its passage.
