CHAP. 257.—An ACT to authorize the town of Culpeper to borrow
money.
Approved March 9, 1880.
1. Be it enacted by the genera] assembly of Virginia, That
the town council of the town of Culpeper be and they are here-
by authorized and empowered to borrow for said corporation, for
the purpose of making permanent improvements in sajd town,
a sum of money not exceeding ten thousand dollars, by the
issue and sale of the bonds of said corporation for the same as
hereinafter provided.

8. It shall be lawful for the trustees of the First Presbyterian
-hurch of Lynchburg to convey and turn over to said Lynch-
yurg female seminary any property held by them and _ hereto-
ore used for educational purposes, including the house and lot
yn the corner of Main and Church streets, in said city, conveyed
oO said trustees by the late Samuel McCorkle.
4. The said Lynchburg female seminary (three-fourths of its
rustees concurring) shall have power to borrow money for the
ourpose of improving its property and increasing its facilities,
2nd may secure the payment of said loans and interest thereon
oy a deed of trust or mortgage on the property held by said
seminary, and may include in such deed or mortgage any debt
now resting on said property.
5. This act shall be in force from its passage.
