CHAP. 252.—An ACT to appropriate $3,000 for the purchase of the
patent known as the McDonald Fish-Way.

Whereas the importance of securing an abundant and regu-
lar supply of fish from our streams being recognized, and fish-
ways over the dams or other obstructions in our streams being
a necessity; to this end,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the sum of
three thousand dollars ($3,000) be and is hereby appropriated
as compensation in full for the purchase of the right of the
McDonald fish-way for the whole state.
2. That the auditor of public accounts of the state of Vir-
ginia do draw his warrant on the treasurer of the state for the
sum of three thousand dollars in favor of Marshall McDonald,
in. full of his right and title to the patent known as the
McDonald fish-way; but no portion of this amount shall be
paid on any warrant drawn therefor until a full and perfect
assignment of said patent be made in due legal form by the
said Marshall McDonald unto the state of Virginia.
8. This act shall be in force from its passage.
