CHAP. 188.—An ACT to provide additional ward buildings at the
Central Lunatic Asylum.
Approved February 20, 1880.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That eight thou-
sand dollars be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the
public treasury for the purpose of erecting two additional
ward buildings at the Central lunatic asylum, in order to afford
relief to the large number of lunatics now held in the jails, and
the greater expense of the state resulting from that mode of
confinement: provided, that the buildings so erected shall be
and remain the property of the state and shall be removable
when the lease of the grounds shall cease.
2. The auditor of public accounts is hereby ordered to issue
his warrant on the treasury, to pay the appropriation in the
foregoing section, upon the requisition of the board of directors
of the Central lunatic asylum, out of any money in the trea-
sury not otherwise appropriated.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
