CHAP. 182.—An ACT to authorize the Trustees of the Methodist
Episcopal Church South, at Ashland, to sell certain real estate.
Approved March 4, 1880.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of the state of
Virginia, That the trustees of the Methodist Episcopal Church
South, in the town of Ashland, in Hanover county, Virginia,
be and they are hereby authorized to sell lot number thirty in
said town of Ashland, situated at the intersection of Railroad
street and west Clay street, containing one acre of land, more
or less, held by said trustees for the benefit of said church.
Said sale may be public or private, as said trustees may deem
best, and the purchaser or purchasers at such sale shall, where
a conveyance is made in pursuance of this act, be invested with
the title to said property.
2. The proceeds of said sale shall be reinvested by said
trustees in other property and held by them in trust, and for
the benefit of said church.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
