CHAP. 174.—An ACT authorizing the Auditor of Public Accounts to
pay to Fanny T. Boykin, widow of Samuel H. Boykin, deceased,
late Register of the Land Office, a certain sum of money.
Approved March 4, 1880.
Whereas Samuel H. Boykin, late register of the land office,
departed this life on the tenth day of April, in the year of
eighteen hundred and seventy-nine; and whereas on applica-
tion by his widow to the auditor of public accounts for pay-
ment of his salary for the said month, the said auditor did
refuse payment except of so much as was the proportionate
part of said month, to-wit: the sum of forty-one dollars and
forty-two cents; and whereas the successor of the said Boykin
was not appointed and qualified until after the expiration of
the said month; now, therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the auditor of public accounts draw ‘his warrant on the trea-
surer in favor of Fanny T. Boykin, widow of the said Samuel
H. Boykin, deceased, for the sum of eighty-two dollars and
eighty-three cents, being the balance of the salary to which the
said Samuel H. Boykin would, as register of the land office,
have been entitled for the said month of April if he had lived
to the end thereof.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
