CHAP. 173.—An ACT to repeal the act entitled an act to amend the
charter of the Valley Railroad Company, approved April 2, 1879.
Approved March 4, 1880.
Whereas by the passage of the act approved April second,
eighteen hundred and seventy-nine, to amend the charter of
the Valley railroad company, it was designed to urge the
speedy completion of the road of said company by imposing
certain limitations and forfeitures; and whereas it is found
necessary, to raise the money necessary for the completion of
the road of said company, that a mortgage shall be given
thereon, and that the limitations and forfeitures contained in
said act are a barrier to a successful negotiation of a loan for
that purpose ; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the act entitled an act to amend the charter of the Valley rail-
road company, approved April second, eighteen hundred and
seventy-nine, be and the same is hereby repealed.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
