CHAP. 134.—An ACT to extend the time for collection of certain tax
tickets now in the hands of D. R. Stokes, treasurer of Lunenburg
county, Virginia. .

Whereas there are now in the hands of D. R. Stokes, trea-
surer of the county of Lunenburg, uncollected tax tickets
amounting to two or three thousand dollars and dated in the
following named years, to-wit: eighteen hundred and seventy-
five, eighteen hundred and seventy-six and eighteen hundred
and seventy-seven, and the said D. R. Stokes having been pre-
vented from collecting the said tax tickets within the time pre-
scribed by law by reason of severe and continuous illness of
himself and one of his deputies, by which they were for a long
time totally unfitted for business; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
D. R. Stokes, the treasurer of Lunenburg county, Virginia, be
and he is hereby granted an extension of one year’s time from
the first day of July, eighteen hundred and eighty, in which to
collect the uncollected tax tickets of eighteen hundred and sev-
enty-five, eighteen hundred and seventy-six and eighteen hundred
and seventy-seven now held by him, and he is hereby author-
ized and empowered to levy for and collect the same as other
taxes are collected.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
