CHAP. 129.—An ACT to amend and re-enact the fifth section of chap-
ter 38, Code of 1873, as amended and re-enacted by an act approved
January 25, 1879, entitled an act to amend and re-enact the fifth
section, chapter 38, Code of 1873, in regard to the delivery of lists
of delinquent lands to treasurers.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the fifth section of chapter thirty-eight, Code of eighteen hun-
dred and seventy-three, as amended and re-enacted by an act
approved January twenty-five, eighteen hundred and seventy-
nine, entitled an act to amend and re-enact the fifth section of
chapter thirty-eight, Code of eighteen hundred and -seventy-
three, in regard to the delivery of lists of delinquent lands to
treasurers, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 5. In the months of July, August and September, in the
year eighteen hundred and eighty, and in one of these months
every five years thereafter, the auditor of public accounts on
the part of the state, and the county court or coporation clerks
on the part of the counties or corporations, shall cause to be de-
livered to the treasurer of each county or corporation in the com-
monwealth a list of the real estate therein which since the tenth
day of April, eighteen hundred and sixty-five, shall have been
or may hereafter be returned delinquent for the non-payment
of taxes, either for state, county or corporation purposes, in-
cluding all state, county and district school taxes, and on
which taxes remain unpaid, with a statement of the amount
due for such taxes on such tract or lot so returned and for
interest on such taxes whether or not the same has heretofore
been sold and purchased by the commonwealth.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
