Chap. 477.—An ACT providing for the appropriation of $50,000, or so mu
thereof as may be necessary, to pay the cost of the completion of a fire-pro
shell building, including heating, plumbing, etc., at the penitentiary.

Whereas, the general assembly of Virginia did, by an act approve
April Second, nineteen hundred and two, appropriate the sum of 01
hundred and. eighty thousand dollars to pay for the cost of constructiz
at the penitentiary “a fire-proof shell building, including heating. plunl
ing, bath-room, and electric wiring, containing three hundred and thirt
four steel cells, with the latest sanitary arrangements and sliding doors’

Whereas, since the making of the estimate on which such appropriatic
was based the cost of material and labor has been greatly advanced, an
there is needed for the completion of the work provided for as abo

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That. the su
of fifty thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, }
and the same is hereby, appropriated, payable out of any funds in tl
State treasury not otherwise appropriated, to pay the costs of the con
pletion of the work provided: for as stated herein above.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
