Chap. 763.—An ACT for the relief of Daniel Hall.
Approved March 8, 1898.
Whereas Daniel Hall, a disabled Confederate soldier of Ringgol
battery, thirteenth battalion of Virginia artillery, was a true and gall
soldier during the late war; was loyal to Virginia; and
Whereas he is now suffering from the following disability—to- wit:
By reason of arduous services in the military services of the Confe
racy and exposure while so engaged.
He returned from the war with his health broken down; from wh
he has never recovered, being now seventy-four years of ave: therefc
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the cou
court of Pittsylvania shall examine into the condition of the abo
named Daniel Hall, a Confederate soldier; and should it be that he \
true and loyal to Virginia through the war; that his disability is «
directly or indirectly to injuries received in battle; and that he is n
afflicted and in needy circumstances and incapacitated for manual lat
that he is needy and poor, and should receive aid from Virginia, an
the county court of Pittsylvania should send a certificate of the facts
the auditor of public accounts of Virginia, then the auditor of pul
accounts is directed to place the name of Daniel Hall on the pension |
and pay him annually the sum of fifteen dollars, on and after the {1
day of April, eighteen hundred and ninety-eight.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
