Chap. 579.—An ACT authorizing the Gladeville school district in the county of
Wise to Issue bonds for the payment of the cost of building free school-houge
for said school district, at Norton, Wise county, Virginia.
Approved February 28, 1898.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virztma, That the school
loard of Gladeville school magisterial district of Wise county be, and
they are hereby, authorized to issue bonds to the amount of three » thou-
cand dollars, to run not excceding six years and bearing interest not
exceeding six per centum per annum, for the purpose of erecting and
equipping a good, substantial and suiti able free schoo! buildingat Norton,
Wise county, Virginia, to be used for free school purposes and for the
education of white children of said distriet of school-going age Clive to
twenty-one years); but the authority hereby conferred upon said school
hoard shall not be exercised until there is donated suitable erounds
therefor, and three hundred dollars given voluntarily by the citizens of
Norton, or those particularly interested, to said building fund.
2. The board of supervisors of Wise county are authorized and
empowered to levy a tax on the assessable property in said district
to provide for the payinent of the said sum, with interest as afore-
said, until pud, and shall so provide that same is fully paid within the
said six vears.
