Chap. 427.—An ACT to amend and re-enact subdivision 6 of section 184 of the
code of Virginia, in reference to the salaries of the judges of the corporatior
courts of the cities of Lynchburg and Staunton.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That subdivis
ion six of section one hundred and eighty-five of the code of Vi irgini:

Subdivision VI. The judge of the hustings and corporation courts th
following sums respectively to be paid out of the treasury of then
respective corporations: the judge of the hustings court of Richmonc
the sum of two thousand three hundred dollars; the city judge o
Norfolk the sum of two thousand dollars; the city judge of Peters
burg the sum of one thousand eight hundred dollars; the cit:
judge of Lynchburg the sum of two thousand five hundred dollars
the city judge of Alexandria the sum of fourteen hundred dollars
the city judge of Portsmouth the sum of thirteen, hundred dollars; th
city Judge of Fredericksburg and Danville, each the sum of seven hun.
dred dollars; the city judge of Winchester the sum of five hundrec
dollars; the city judge of Manchester a sum not less than eight hundrec
nor more than twelve hundred dollars; the city judge of Roanoke «
sum not less than seven hundred and fifty nor more than one thousanc
dollars; and the city judge of Staunton a sum not less than seven hun:
dred nor more than twelve hundred dollars, to be fixed by the council:
of said cities, respectively: provided, that when the same person shal.
be elected judge of a county and also a city or corporation court therein
his aggregate salary shall not exceed the sum of thirteen hundred dollars.
