Chap. 1000,—An ACT to place the name of James Lawhorn, a Confederate soldier,
of Bedford county, on the pension list.

Whereas James Lawhorn, an ex-Confederate soldier, of Bedford county,
was desperately wounded in the leg in a battle near Harrisonburg, while
serving in the Confederate army; and
Whereas, in consequence of said wound, the said James Lawhorn is
incapacitated from daily labor to the extent of the loss of a leg: now,
therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That when the
county court of Bedford county certifies that the statements set forth in
the preamble to this act are true, then the auditor of public accounts is
hereby authorized to place the name of the said James Lawhorn on the
pension list and pay him the sum of fifteen dollars.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
