Chap. 834.—An ACT to protect game in the county of Nottoway, Virginia.
Approved March 8, 1894.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall
be unlawful for any person to kill or capture wild turkeys in the
county of Nottoway between the first day of February and the first
day of October in each year; to kill or capture deer between the fif-
teenth day of January and the fifteenth day of August of each year;
to kill or capture hares or rabbits between the first day of January
and the first day of September of each year; to kill or capture par-
tridges, offer them for sale, or buy same between the fifteenth day of
January and the first day df November of each year; and it shall be
unlawful at any time to capture them in nets or traps, or to destroy
their nests. The penalty for violating this law shall be a fine of not
less than ten nor more than twenty dollars, or imprisonment not ex-
ceeding thirty days until the fine is paid.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
