rom this state in the congress of the United States to endeavor to secur
additional and continuous work of construction and repair for the Unite
States navy-yard, at the port of Norfolk and Portsmouth, Virginia.

Whereas the United States navy-yard, at the port of Norfolk an
rtsmouth, in this state, is justly celebrated for the capability of it
rkmen, as well as for its thorough equipment for the constructio:
d repair of the vessels of the United States, and for other wor!

Whereas continuous work is necessary in order adequately t
intain the high standard of efficiency which now exists in th
rious departments of the said navy-yard; and
Whereas the people of all parts of this state are deeply interestes
the maintenance of the enviable position now held by the sai
vy-yard and in the continued supply of work therefor: now
refore,
Resolved by the house of delegates (the senate concurring), Tha
