Chap. 707.—An ACT to regulate the killing and capturing of deer in the county
of Princess Anne.
Approved March 6, 1894.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall
not be lawful to kill or capture any deer, or to chase the same with
dogs, in the county of Princess Anne, at any time except between the
fifteenth day of September and the fifteenth day of February of each
ear.
, 2. Any person violating the provisions of the preceding section
shall for each offence be fined not less than fifty dollars or more
than one hundred dollars, and shall be imprisoned in the county
jail until the fine and costs are paid, but such imprisonment shall
not exceed the period of thirty days. One-half of any fine imposed
under this act shall go to the informer. The possession of any fresh
venison or green deer-skins during the prohibited period shall be
prima facie evidence of the violation of this act.
3. Any fines recovered under the preceding section or sections
shall be paid into the state literary fund, except as to the one-half
paid to the informer in the costs recovered.
4, Proceedings under this act may be by warrant before a justice
of the peace or by indictment in the county court.
5. All acts or parts of acts in conflict with this act are hereby
repealed.
6. This act shall be in force from its passage.
