Chap. 660.—An ACT authorizing the transfer of insane from one hospital to
another.
Approved March 5, 1894.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That when-
ever in the opinion of the superintendent of either the Eastern,
Western or Southwestern hospital, it would be conducive to the
health or otherwise beneficial to any of his insane patients to be
transferred to one of the other named hospitals, it shall be lawful,
upon mutual understanding between the two superintendents, for
him to cause the transfer, and the status of the insane patients in
the hospital to which they may thus be transferred shall be as legal
as if committed thereto under a commission of lunacy.
2. The expenses to be incurred in the transfer hereinbefore pro-
vided for shal] be borne by and payable out of the general fund of
the hospital from which the insane patients are transferred.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
