1. Be it enacted by the general assemblyof Virginia, That sec-
tions three and twelve of an act entitled an act to incorporate the
Metropolitan Western railroad of Virginia, approved February fourth,
eighteen hundred and ninety, as amended by an act approved Feb-
ruary sixteenth, eighteen hundred and ninety-two, entitled an act to
amend and re-enact sections three and twelveof an act entitled an act
to incorporate the Metropolitan Western railroad of Virginia, approved
February fourth, eighteen hundred and ninety, be amended and re-
enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 3. The said Metropolitan Western railroad company is author-
ized and empowered to locate, construct, equip and operate a rail-
road of standard gauge, with a single or double track, commenc-
ing at any point it may select on the Potomac river, in the county of
Fairfax, and running thence to any point it may select in the
counties of Fairfax and Prince William, from which latter point it
shal] have the right, but shall not be compelled, to extend, construct
and operate said railroad through the said county and the county of
Prince William to any point it may select on the Potomac river, in
the county of Prince William or the county of Stafford.
§ 12. The said company is required to commence the construction
of its railroad not later than the first day of March, in the year
eighteen hundred and ninety-six, and to complete it not later than
the first day of March, in the year eighteen hundred and ninety-
nine.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
