Whereas the office of county treasurer of Greenesville county h
been in an unsettled condition since the first day of October, eig
teen hundred and ninety-three, owing to the financial troubles
the treasurer, s0 much so as to require the appointment of an
treasurer, which was not done until after the first day of Decemb
whereby the tax-payers of the county had no opportunity to p
their taxes prior to the first day of December, eighteen hundred a
nipety-three, and thus avoid the penalty of five per centum affix
by law for non-payment of taxes prior to that time: therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That t
treasurer of the county of Greenesville shall not until the first d
of February, eighteen hundred and ninety-four, add to the taxes d
by the tax-payers of said county for the year eighteen hundred ai
ninety-three, the five per contum provided by law for failure to p:
prior to the first day of December.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
