Chap. 434.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 3156 of the code of Vir-
ginia, in reference to writs of venire facias.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That sec-
tion three thousand one hundred and fifty-six of the code of Vir-
ginia be amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 3156. No irregularity in any writ of venire facias, or in the
drawing, summoning, returning or empaneling of jurors shall be
sufficient to set aside a verdict, unless the party making the objec-
tion was injured by the irregularity, or unless the objection was
made before the swearing of the jury; and no judgment shall be
reversed for the failure of the record to show that there was a venire
facias, unless made a ground of exception in the trial court before
the jury is sworn. This act shall apply to jurors and juries in all
cases, criminal as well as civil.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
