Chap. 394.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 10 of an act entitled an ac
to provide for the working and repairing of public roads and bridges in A:
bemarle county, approved February 20, 1892.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That sec
tion ten of an act entitled an act to provide for the working and re
pairing of public roads and bridges in Albemarle county, approve
February twentieth, eighteen hundred and ninety-two, be amende
and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 10. The said road commissioners shall receive compensation fo
their services at the rate of two dollars per day for the time the:
shall be actually engaged in the duties of their office as such com
missioners, and the number of days for which they shall respec
tively receive such compensation shall be limited by said board o
supervisors according to the number of days during which it shal
appear each commissioner should be employed in his district, to b
paid out of the road tax collected in his district; but no such com
missioner shall receive more than one hundred dollars in any on
year; and if said commissioner shall have served as special sur
veyor he shall not be paid twice for the same time employed in bot!
capacities: provided, however, that if a road district in said count;
shall be formed of twoor more magisterial districts, then it shall b
lawful for said board of supervisors to allow the road commissione)
thereof for not more than twenty-five additional days’ work as suck
commissioner in any one year, so that his yearly compensation maj
amount to, but shall not exceed, one hundred and fifty dollars.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
