Chap. 333.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 1661 of chapter 75 of the
code of Virginia, in relation to the change of the names of the lunatic asy-
lums of the state.
Approved February 22, 1804.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That sec-
tion sixteen hundred and sixty-one of chapter seventy-five of the
code of Virginia be amended and re-enacted so as to read ag follows:
§ 1661. Their location and corporate names.—The directors for
each of said asylums, and their successors, shall respectively con-
tinue to be corporations; for the asylum at Williamsburg, with the
name of ‘“ The Eastern state hospital; ” for the asylum at Staunton,
with the name of “The Western state hospital; for the asylum at
Marion, with the name of “The Southwestern state hospital,” and
for the asylum at Petersburg (established for the reception and
treatment of colored persons of unsound mind), with the name of
“The Central state hospital.”
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
