Chap. 283.—An ACT to relieve P. C. Langdon.
Approved February 19, 1894.
Whereas by a clerical error of a former commissioner of the reve-
nue of district number one, in Prince William county, the one hun-
dred and fifty-four acre tract of P. C. Langdon was taxed for certain
years between eighteen hundred and eighty-five and eighteen hun-
dred and ninety at three times the correct amount, according to the
and assessment of eighteen hundred and eighty-five; and whereas
aid Langdon refused to pay said erroneous taxation; and whereas
he said land has been sold for delinquent taxes and purchased by
he state: therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
aid P. C. Langdon is hereby authorized at any time before January
irst, eighteen hundred and ninety-five, to settle all state, county,
oad and school taxes heretofore delinquent upon said land, reckoned
t the valuation in the land assessment of eighteen hundred and
ighty-five, free from all interest charges,and the clerk of the county
f Prince William is directed to receive the said taxes and to pay
hem over to the proper state and county authorities; and the said
lerk is further authorized to thereupon release unto the said Lang-
lon all claims of the commonwealth upon said land.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
