1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That se
tion thirty-one hundred and twenty-two of the code of Virginia, :
amended by an act approved February twenty-ninth, eighteen hu:
dred and ninety-two, be, and the same is hereby, amended and r
enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 3122. Though a court be not beld on the first day of a term,
may, nevertheless, be opened on any subsequent day, if, in the ca:
of a circuit, county or corporation court, the same be done befo:
four o’clock in the afternoon of the third day. After a court -
opened it shall, during the term, adjourn from day to day, and n«¢
otherwise; and if it fail to sit on any day to which it is adjournec
it may, nevertheless, sit on any subsequent day of the term: prc
vided, in the case of a circuit, county or corporation court, there b
not more than three consecutive days of such failure; but a circu!
court, after having been in session for six days, may take a recess fo
a period not exceeding twenty days; and a corporation court, afte
having been in session for ten days, may take a recess for a perio
not exceeding six days.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
