Chap. 134.—An ACT to allow the late and the present treasurers of Rock-
bridge county and their deputies further time in which to collect levies and
taxes which have been already accounted for by said treasurers.
Approved February 6, 1804.
Whereas James D. Anderson, late treasurer of Rockbridge county,
and Samuel R. Moore, the present treasurer of Rockbridge county,
have in their hands various tickets for taxes and levies, both
state and county, for the years eighteen hundred and eighty-eight,
eighteen hundred and eighty-nine, eighteen hundred and ninety and
eighteen hundred and ninety-one, and said taxes, amounting to
dollars, remain uncollected: therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
authority 1s hereby given to the said James D. Anderson, late treas-
urer of Rockbridge county, and his deputies, and to said Samuel R.
Moore, now treasurer of gaid county, and his deputies, to collect the
amounts due upon said tickets for state and county taxes and levies,
which have not been returned delinquent forthe years aforesaid, and
they shall have the same power of levy and distress for the same that
treasurers now possess under the revenue laws of this state, and that
this power and authority be extended for one year from the passage
of this act.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
