Chap. 127.—An ACT to authorize the auditor of public accounts to credit
Samuel H. Dunkley, treasurer of Patrick county, with lost or misplaced
school warrants.
Approved February 1, 1894.
1. Be it enacted by the general Assembly of Virginia, That upon
the production of evidence satisfactory to the auditor of public ac-
counts that school warrant number eighty, for six thousand six hun-
dred and sixty-seven dollars and forty-three cents, dated the twenty-
sixth day of September, eighteen hundred and ninety-two, for the
county of Patrick, has been lost or misplaced, and that the amount
of said warrant has been paid in full by the treasurer of said county,
upon orders of the proper school authorities of said county, the said
auditor is hereby authorized to credit said treasurer with the same
from the date it was issued: provided that the said auditor shall take
‘rom the said treasurer a bond of indemnity, with proper security,
‘or ten thousand dollars, to save the commonwealth harmless in case
aid warrant should not have been lost or destroyed, or should here-
ifter be produced, or should be unpaid in whole or in part; but all
he costs of said application to the auditor shall be borne by the
said county treasurer.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
