Chap. 112.—An ACT to amend and re-enact sections 1, 2,5 and 8 of an act en-
titled an act to incorporate the Potomac and Great Falls railroad company,
approved January 26, 1592.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section
one, two, five and eight of an act entitled ‘‘an act to incorporate the
Potomac and Great Falls railroad company” be amended and re-
enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 1. Be it enacted by the genera] assembly of Virginia, That R.
W. Moore, B. F. Mackall, 8. R. Donohoe, J. M. Love and D. 8S. Mackall,
of Virginia; and Henry Wise Garnett and S. P. Ficklin, of the Dis-
trict of Columbia, and such others as they may associate with them,
and their successors and assigns, are hereby constituted a body
politic and corporate under the name of the Potomac and Great Falls
railroad company, with power to locate, construct, equip and operate
any tramway or, railroad from a point at or near the Potomac river

in Alexandria county, opposite the District of Columbia; thenc
through said counties of Alexandria and Fairfax to the town o
Falls Church, and with branch roads to the Great Falls of the Poto
mac river, and such other points in said counties or in the countie:
of Prince William and Loudoun as the board of directors may deer
advisable: provided that the failure to construct one line shall ir
no wise affect this charter as applicable to that portion constructed
but the same shall continue in force.
& 2. The capital stock of said company shall not be less thar
twenty-five thousand dollars, nor more than five hundred thousand
dollars. The par value of each share issued shall be one hundred
dollars. Subscriptions to the stock be received under and according
to such regulations as the directors may see fit to make, and in pay-
ment of subscriptions they may take labor, material and property.

town through or in which the road of said company, or any branch
thereof, may be located, may subscribe to the capital stock or bonds
of raid company in the mode prescribed by law.
§ 5. The said company shall have the right to cross at grade, over
or under, intersect, join or unite its railroad with any other railroad
now built or hereafter to be built; to consolidate or merge its stock,
property and franchises with those of any other corporation, and to
subscribe to the stock of any other corporation.
§ 8. The said company shall commence the construction of its
railroad within two years, and shall complete the same within five
years from the passage of this act.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
