Chap. 109.—An ACT for the protection of wild turkeys in the county of West-
moreland.
Approved January 31, 18M.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall
be unlawful to kill or capture, or offer for sale, or buy wild turkeys
in the county of Westmoreland between the fifteenth day of Feb-
ruary and the fifteenth day of November, or at any time to take or
destroy the eggs of wild turkeys, or catch them with traps.
2. If any person violate the provisions of this act, he shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and be fined not less than ten nor
more than fifty dollars for each offence. In any prosecution under
this act proof of the possession by any person of a wild turkey shall
be prima facie evidence of his guilt.
3. All acts and parts of acts inconsistent with this act are herehy
repealed,
4. This act shall be in force from its passage.
