CHAP. 692.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 2 of an act
entitled an act to incorporate the Staley’s creek and manganese
iron company, approved May 21, 1887.
Approved March 8, 1892.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That section two of an act entitled an act to incorporate
the Staley’s creek manganese and iron company, be amend-
ed and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 2. The said company is authorized and empowered to
mine mangauese, iron ore and other minerals, to prepare
the same for market, to transport and sell the same, to
manufacture iron, stee] and other metals, and for these, or
any of these purposes, to purchase, hold lease and convey
real estate, land and mineral rights not exceeding fifteen
thousand acres in this state at any one time, to erect and
operate furnaces, mills and any works that may be requl-
site, and to locate and construct any railroad not exceed-
ing fifteen miles in length, from the lands or works of said
company to any point on the Norfolk and Western rail-
road, in Smyth or Washington counties, and to acquire
and hold stock or bonds in any incorporated company, and
to issue its stock or bonds to any other incorporated com-
pany on such terms as may be lawful under the laws of
Virginia and authorized by the stockholders of the com-
pany.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
