CHAP. 310.—An ACT to amend an act entitled an act to inoorpo-
rate the town of New Market, in the county of Shenandoah,
approved December 25, 1872, acts of assembly 1872-'78, in rela-
tion to procuring council’s certificates to sell beer, wine, liquor,
ardent spirits, or any mixture thereof.
Approved February 19, 1892.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That any person applying to the county court of Shenan-
doah county for license to keep a bar-room, or to sell by
retail or wholesale, beer, wine, ardent spirits, or liquors of
any kind or any mixture thereof, in the town of New Mar-
ket, in Shenandoah county, or within one mile thereof,
shall present before the court of said county a certificate
of the council of said town to the effect that the applicant
is a suitable person and that no good reason is known to
the said council why such license should not be granted ;
and the court of said county shall not grant any license
to sell beer, wine, ardent spirits, or liquors of any kind or
any mixture thereof, within the limits above prescribed,
unless such certificate is produced before the said court.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
