Law Body
CHAP. 296.—An ACT to relieve George @amsay and his surety,
Morgan Ramsay, from a judgmen bapuscd by the county
court of Franklin. ,
Approved February 16, 1892.
Whereas it appears from a copy of proceedings had in
the circuit court for Franklin county that a judgment was
given by the county court of said county, against one
George Ramsay and his surety, Morgan Ramsay, respect-
ively, for the sum of one hundred dollars, with costs,
upon a scire facias upon a recognizance to keep the peace,
alleging a breach of the same by the said George Ram-
say; and whereas it further appears that the said Morgan
Ramsay and George Ramsay have applied to the circuit
court of said county as prescribed by the statute, asking
said court to certify to the general assembly of Virginia,
the facts in relation to their application for relief, and to
give its written opinion as to the propriety of granting
the same; and whereas it appears from the opinion of
said court that it recommends that the relief prayed
should be granted; and whereas the propriety of this
Opinion is sustained by the facts; now, therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That George Ramsay and his estate, and the said Morgan
Ramaay be forever relieved and discharged from the judg-
ment of one hundred dollars given against them, respect-
ively, by the county court of Franklin county; but they
shall not be relieved from the costs attending said judg-
ment.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
