CHAP. 271.—An ACT toamend and re enact section 2 of an act
to amend the following acta: An act to incorporate the town of
Rocky Mount, approved February 17th, 1873; an act to amend
the act of February 17th, 1873, approved April 28, 1874, and an
act amendatory and re-enacting section 2 of the act approved
April 28, 1874, approved March 4th, 1884, so as to enlarge the
corporate limits of the town of Rocky Mount.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That section two of an act to amend the following acts:
An act to incorporate the town of Rocky Mount, approved
February seventeenth, eighteen hundred and seventy-
three; an act to amend the act of February seventeenth,
eighteen hundred and seventy-three, approved April twen-
ty-eighth, eighteen hundred and seventy-four, and an act
amending and re-enacting section two of the act approved
April twenty-eighth, eighteen hundred and seventy-four,
approved March fourth, eighteen hundred and eighty-four,
be amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 2. The boundaries of said town for the future shall
be as follows, to-wit: Beginning at a pile of rocks and
stake north of the Franklin and Pittsylvania railroad,
thence south fifty-six, east one hundred and fifty poles
three feet, to a small persimmon tree on the fence near
C. E. Bernard’s fish-pond; thence south twenty-four and
one-quarter, eaat forty-four poles twenty links, to a stake
in the meadow about twenty feet from the branch; thence
south three and one-half, east one hundred and fifty-
eight poles, to a stake and rock pile; thence south eighty-
eight, west two hundred and eight poles, to a stake and
rock pile near Mrs. Ann E. Saunder’s fence; thence north
forty-two, west two-hundred and twenty-four poles, to a
stake and rock pile north of the Roanoke and Southern
railroad; thence north fifty-eight and one-half, east two
hundred and thirty-nine and one-half poles, to the begin-
ning. All acts or parts of acts in conflict with this are
to that extent hereby repealed.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
