Chap. 52.—An ACT to amend an act approved July ninth, eighteen
hundred and seventy, entitled an act to incorporate the Richmond
Educational Association.
Approved February 10, 1876.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
section nine of an act approved July ninth, eighteen bun-
dred and seventy, entitled an act to incorporate the Richmond
educational association, be amended and re-enacted so as to
read as follows:
§ 9. The said association shall have power, by a resolution of
its board of directors passed at any regular or called meeting,
to transfer, convey, and dispose ot any estate, real or personal,
which it may acquire under this act, to the city of Richmond,
for educational purposes, and upon such terms as may be
agreed on between the said board of directors and the school
board of the city of Richmond, to be set forth in the deed or
deeds conveying such property, which deed or deeds shall be
sufficiently executed on behalf of said association by the
signature and seal of the president of its board of directors,
and any such deed, if for the conveyance of the property in
actual use for school purposes, may be recorded without the
payment of a tax to the state.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
