Chap. 244.—An ACT providing for Submitting of Repeal of Fence
Law in Bruton District, in whole or in part, to Voters of York
County.
' Approved March 29, 1876.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the super-
visors of the county of York be authorized and required to
submit to the voters of Bruton district, in said county, at the
next general election held for said county, the question of
the repeal of the fence law, passed January twenty-sixth,
eighteen hundred and sixty-six, either in whole or in part.
2. The manner of receiving and canvassing the ballots cast
at such election, on the question of repealing the act relating
to fences, and for protection of crops, in whole or part, passed
January twenty-six, eighteen hundred and sixty-six, and
making returns and abstracts of the results thervof, shall
conform, in all respects, to the regulations prescribed by the
general election law of this state, except, that the certificate
of the judges of election shall be as follows:
We hereby certify that at the election held in Bruton dis-
trict, votes were cast for repeal of fence law; votes
were cast against repeal of fence law.

3. If, from such returns and abstracts of votes cast on the
question of repealing the act aforesaid, either in whole or in
part, in said district of Bruton, it shall appear that a majority
of the qualified voters of the district aforesaid, voting upon
the question, are in favor of repealing the act, either in whole
or in part, and that said majority includes a majority of votes
cast by freeholders, and a majority of the registered voters
of the district of Bruton, then it shall be the duty of the
county court to declare the provisions of said act to be in-
operative and repealed, either in whole or in part, in the dis-
trict, as the votes may determine.
4, This act shal! be in force from its passage.
