Chap. 20.—An ACT to provide for the Registration of the Voters of
the city of Danville.
Approved January 26, 1876.
1. Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the duly qualified registrar for the city of Danville, shall on
the first Monday in March, eighteen hundred and seventy-
six, proceed to register, according to the general registration
laws of the state, the names of all the qualified voters within
the said city for which he was appointed, who, according to
law, are entitled to registration therein; and he shall com-
plete such registration within five days thereafter. _
2. In making such registration, the said registrar shall, in
every particular, be guided and controlled by the general
registration laws of the state; and the registration thus
made shall have the same force, virtue and effect as though
the same had been made under the general registration laws
of the state. .
3. In all other respects, except as herein provided, the
duties of the registrar of the city of Danville shall be the
same as are prescribed in the general registry laws of the
‘state.
4, All acts and parts of acts inconsistent with the provi-
sions of this act are hereby repealed. ~-
5. This act shall be in force from its passage.
