Chap. 98.—An ACT to amend and re-enact the first section of an act
approved March 12, 1878, incorporating the Vance manufacturing
company of the city of Norfolk.
Approved February 13, 1879.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the first sec-
tion of an act entitled an act fo incorporate the Vanee manu-
facturing company of the city of Norfolk, be amended and re-
enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That W. F. Allen,
A. S. Martin, M. L. T. Davis, E. T. Powell, W. T. Taliaferro
and William B. Rogers, and such other persons as may here-
after be associated with them, shall be and they are hereby in-
corporated and made a body politic and corporate, by the name
and style of The Vance Manufacturing Company, for the fol-
lowing purposes, to-wit: The manufacturing of laundry and
toilet soaps, the tanning of leather and manufacture of fertili-
zers, blacking, starch and ink. The minimum capital of said
company shall be two thousand dollars, and the maximum cap-
ital shall be twenty thousand dollars, and the said capital shall
be divided imto shares of fifty dollars each,
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
