Chap. 71.—An ACT to pay the judges of the commonwealth their
salaries and mileage fixed by law, on the 12th of March, 1878, during
their then severai terms.

Whereas the constitution of this state, by the twenty-second
section of article eleven, provides that “ali judges shall be com-
missioned by the governor, and shall receive such salaries anid
allowances as may be determined by law, the amount of which
shall not be diminished during their term of office :”’
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That nothing con-
tained in chapter one hundred and eighty-three of the acts of
eighteen hundred and seventy-seven-eight, approved twelfth
March, eighteen htndred and seventy-eight, shall be construed
to diminish, during their then term of- office, the salaries and
allowances of the judges of this commonwealth fixed by law at
the date of the approval of said act, and the auditor is hereby
directed to pay to all such judges such salaries and mileage as
was then allowed them by law till the end of their then several
terms of office.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
