Chap. 210.—An ACT for the relief of W. J. Shumate.
Approved March 3, 1879.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the auditor of public accounts be and he is hereby authorized
and directed to issue his warrant, payable out of any money in
the treasury not otherwise appropriated, to William J. Shumate
the sum of thirty-one dollars and eighty cents, the amount of
taxes erroneously charged against said Shumate, and paid by
him from the year eighteen lbundred and sixty-six to the year
cighteen hundred and seventy-three inclusive, on a tract of land
lying in the county of Wauguier, assessed dering the period
aforesaid to said Shumate as containing four hundred acres,
when, in fact, by accurate survey lately made, it contained only
three hundred and cight acres.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
