Chap. 205.—An ACT to incorporate the Trustees of Chilton Lodge,
Independent Order Good Templars,
Approved March 3, 1879.
1. Beit enacted by the general assembly of Vireinia, That W.
Hf. Lelman, G. W. Jones, R. L. Clark, W. C. England, Joseph
M. Smith, and their successors, be and they are hereby appointed
a body politic and corporate, by the name and style of The
Trustees of Chilton Lodge, Independent Order of Good Tem.
piars; and by that name shall have perpetual succession; may
contract and be contracted with, sue and be sued; may acquire,
receive, hold, possess and enjoy, and may rent, sell, convey and
otherwise manage or dispose of all lands, money or other prop-
erty, real or personal, which may hereafter be given or otherwise
acquired by them for the use of the said lodge of Good Tem-
plars. And the said trustees shall hold their office only so long
as they shall remain members of the said lodge: provided that
the amouut of land held by them shall not exceed one acre,
and provided that the sum of money acquired by them shall
not exceed one thousand dollars.
2. The said lodge, at any meeting called by the lodge deputy
for this purpose, shall have power to fill all vacancies in the
board of trustees, the persons to fill such vacancies to be chosen
from the membership of said lodge.
3. Whenever the said lodge shall surrender its charter to the
Grand Lodges of Independent Order of Good Templars of Vir-
ginia, or from any other cause shall cease to exist, the said
trustees, or a majority of them, shall have authority to sell and
convey the lard and other property held by them for the use of
the lodge, and distribute the money aristis from such sale, and
any other money belonging to the said lodge, ratably ainong
the members in good standing at the time of such surrender of
the charter.
A, Three trustees shall constitute a cuorum for the transac-
tion of any business under this act.
