CHAP. 202.—An ACT to amend and re-enact an act incorporating the
town of Grundy.
Appreved March 3, 1879.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the town of
Grundy, in the county of Buchanan, as the same has hereto-
fore been laid off into town lots, strects, and alleys, and as the
same may hereafter be laid oiT inte lots, streets, and alleys,
shall be and the same is hereby made a town corporate, by the
name of the Town of Grundy; and bv that name shall have
and exercise the powers conferred upon towns by the fifty-
fourth chapter of the Code of Virginia, edition of eighteen
hundred and sixty, and all laws now in force, and which may
hereafter be enacted, for the government of towns containing
less than five thousand inhabitants.
2. The boundaries of the town shall be one-half of a mile
froin the court-nouse building in said town, extending east,
west, north, and south, and embracing the area contained
therein, so as to make said area one mile square.
3. This act shall take effect from its passage.
