CHAP. 129.—An AC'P to empower the board of supervisors of Augusta
county to levy a tax in aid of the Augusta Memortal Association for
the Confederate dead,

}. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
in order to aid the Augusta memorial association for the Con-
federate dead in removing to the cemetery, in Augusta county,
under their charge, the bodies of such late Confederate soldiers
as now lie buried within said county outside of any regular
cemetery, and in keeping in proper condition the grounds under
the control of said memorial association, and the graves of any
late Confederate soldiers buried in any regular cemetery in said
county, the board of supervisors of Augusta county be and
they are hereby empowered to levy annually, j in their discretion,
for a sum not exceeding three hundred dollars, to be expended
by such officers of said assoviation, and on such terms of ac-
eountability to said board as they may prescribe.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
