Chap. 114.—An ACT to amend the charter of the Bank of Ports-
mouth,
Approved February 27, 1879.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the third sec-
tion of an act passed February ninth, eighteen hundred and
sixty-seven, entitled an act to incorporate the bank of Ports-
mouth, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 3. The seyen persons first above named in the act of incor-
poration, shall constitute the first board of directors thereof ;
they shall continue in office until the first meeting of the mem-
bers, and until their successors in office are elected. No stock-
holder shall be eligible to an election as director who shall not
at the time be the absolute owner, in his own right, of at least
five shares of the capital stock. The annual meeting of the
stockholders shall be provided for in the by-laws; and at such
annual meeting, or at any other meeting of the stockholders,
each stockholder may, in person or by proxy, give one vote on
and for each and every share of stock owned by or represented
by him. The board of directors shall consist of seven mem-
bers, uniess otherwise provided by the by-laws.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
