CHAP. 848.—An ACT providing that the board of supervisors of
charlotte, county shall not be required to provide a fire-proof
clerk’s office.
Approved February 24, 1890.
Whereas the board of supervisors of Charlotte county has
provided for the clerk’s office of said county a fire-proof
safe to hold the most important and valuable records of
said county; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That the board of supervisors of Charlotte county shall
not he required to provid a fire-proof clerk’s office for said
county.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
Chap. 349 —An ACT to amend and re-enact section 1 of an act
approved January 31, 1890, entitled an act enlarging the powers
of the Brosk Turnpike company in constructing a branch road.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That section one of an act approved January thirty-first,
eighteen hundred and ninety, entitled an act enlarging
the powers of the Brook turnpike company in construct-
ing a branch road, be amended .and re-enacted so as to
read as follows:
§1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That the Brook turnpike company shall have authority to
construct from a point on their road in the county of Hen-
rico not distant farther than one mile from the north-
western termination of the city of Richmond, to a point
on the street known as Lombardy street extended, in the
said city of Richmond, a turnpike road not less than sixty
feet in width, and to construct over Bacon Quarter branch,
in the said county of Henrico, such bridge or bridges as
may be necessary for the said road under this act; said
road to he held by the said Brook turnpike company under
the same rights and privileges, and subject to the same
duties as it now holds its present property under said sec-
tion of the code: provided, that the assent of the city
council of the city of Richmond and of the county court
of Henrico county be first obtained thereto: and provided,
further, that the road authorized to be constructed under
this act shall not pass over any county road or public
thoroughfare now or ever in actual use, and that the tolls
on the said road so constructed shall be the same as those
now allowed by law on the principal road of the said
company known as the Brook turnpike.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
